Unique Guest Book Ideas!

Hey Y'all! Traditional guest books at your wedding are lovely and a great way to have people write a simple and caring message to you newly weds, but why not break out of the traditional mold and do something a little more fun and interactive! Guests will love the idea and you'll love the outcome. One of them is even a DIY project so grab your hubby and head to your local craft store. Enjoy!

An envelope book is a great and simple way to incorporate a guest book into your wedding! Mini envelopes can be found at most crafting stores and so can a blank scrapbook. This is definitely a DIY project! Or if you want you can have mini envelopes made so the inside matches with your wedding colors and wedding invitations. Have little cards at the ready and every guest can write a message and seal it with love.

Y'all need to get ready to shake it like a polaroid picture because this idea is such a fun one! Have a polaroid camera at your party and have guests take their picture and sign their name and a note at the bottom. You'll get to see how much fun they were having your wedding and what sweet messages they wrote to you!

This idea is a little more sentimental, but each guest brings a picture they have with the bride or groom and later you can put it in a scrapbook!

For a more rustic theme wedding, a wonderful painted window pane with glass inside can serves as a mini white board for guests to write on. This is also perfect for decor in your new home! Hang it where you'll be able to see it and admire it.

Bachelorette Party Anyone?!

Hey ladies! This post is just for y'all today and it's all things bachelorette parties! Are you hoping to plan something more than just a night out on the town? Check out these fun ideas for some inspiration from Green Wedding Shoes! Need some more help? Give Sweetgrass Social a call today and we have tons of ideas to give you - especially for the weekend getaway. We can even help you plan your girls weekend to Charleston!

Interested in botany or just trying to get in touch with your creative side? Take a flower arranging class or make terrariums with your bridal party! You can learn all about the flowers to be used in the wedding or just DIY at home with flowers bought from the store!

Another way to get in touch with your creative side is with jewelry making! You can take a class or just go to a shop and have a free for all. What better what to tell your bridesmaids you love them than by making them each a beautiful new friendship bracelet! Also something special they can put with their bridesmaids dresses come wedding day.

For the food loving gals, which we all know we are, why not try a food truck or restaurant hop?! What a fun and delicious way to spend time together. You could do a cocktail and/or food at each place you stop. Cover all your taste bud bases: sweet, salty and savory and more! Sounds tasty, doesn't it?!

For the creative foodies out there, how about a cooking or sushi making class? Learn how to make delicious meals and have fun doing it. What better way to spend your bachelorette party than learning, joking around with your girls AND eating?!

A bachelorette weekend getaway is the perfect excuse to come to Charleston or some other exotic place for the weekend with just you and your gals! A weekend getaway can be done on a budget when you share rooms and drive as opposed to flying. There are many ways to cut costs for a weekend, or even a night getaway that make it totally feasible for a bachelorette party!

This one's pretty self explanatory - who wouldn't want to spend a day at the spa, relaxing and getting pampered? Manicures and pedicures, champagne and massage for everyone please!

A wine tasting or trip to a local vineyard is also a great way to spend your bachelorette party. There are wineries all over the world that are open to visitors. Be sure to hire a driver, pack a picnic lunch and prepare for a day of fun and excitement with your ladies!

For the rugged bride and her cowgirls, why not go for a camping trip?! You can be as rugged or as glam as your choose.. there are ways to camp both in style and the old fashioned way.

Real Wedding: Candice and John

It was so hard to choose only a few photos from the stunning wedding to post, so I just had to pick a lot of them! The wedding of Candice and John was so romantic and elegant, and filled with many lovely details that really made us swoon. The wedding took place at John's family home in Bannockburn, where they were surrounded by their family and friends as the couple said their "I Do's"! Candice wore a vintage, but still modern Jenny Packham wedding gown, while her maids wore blush colored bridesmaids dresses. Our own Jacqueline Volz of Sweetgrass Social was the mastermind behind this stunning affair and even executed a rain plan ever so smoothly and hour and a half before the wedding! We absolutely loved working with this beautiful couple and were so happy to be a part of their special day!

Real Wedding: Stacey & Patrick

In June, we had the pleasure of coordinating Stacey & Patrick's beautiful wedding. They got married under the trees at the Legare Waring House, enjoyed hors d'oeuvres on the patio and danced the night away beneath the Avenue of the Oaks. It was truly a beautiful occasion! The tables were decorated with simple, yet elegant floral arrangements, colorful vases made from bottles, lanterns, and chalk boards - complete with table names relating to Stacey and Patrick's life together. Stacey wanted a "whimsical" feel, which was so beautifully accomplished by the mix-match table settings and the chevron runners. There was accents of the bride and groom everywhere you looked; everything from the menu to the song selections, were carefully selected by them. We truly loved working with this Sweetgrass Social couple and are so happy to have been included in their special day!

Check out Stacey and Patrick's feature on Southern Wedding's here. A huge thank you to Dana Cubbage as well for the beautiful photographs featured here!
